Duties

Serve as a senior systems specialist performing studies and developing plans for the directorate. Serve as a Financial Systems Specialist to perform data extracts utilizing multiple on-line applications to extract a wide variety of pay and personnel data from the Defense Joint Military Pay System (DJMS-AC/RC) Identify data fields, run data extracts, and provide statistical information about the data to meet the requirements of Operational Business Metrics (OBM) and the Mission Area Review (MAR) and customer focused metrics reporting. Develop monthly reports to provide information pertaining to the timeliness and accuracy of pay-affecting transactions and rejected transactions Serve as lead for reviews, projects, and studies and establishes the goals, objectives, and milestones for each. Conduct special reviews/studies as directed or in response to customer needs Perform analyses and studies regarding military pay financial status reports. Advises management of identified problem areas, suggest corrective action, and/or develop guidance to clarify regulations, policies, or procedures. Identify trends and works with management to develop proper corrective actions.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as Applying knowledge of automated financial systems design and processing principles, techniques, policies and regulations related to finance operations; Analyzing, documenting and recommending financial system requirements; Researching issues related to the integration of financial systems, and recommending corrective actions to the management. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
