Duties

You will serve as operator-in-charge of the complete plant, on second and third shift. You will independently start, operate, adjust, stop, maintain, and perform various operational repairs in multiple-fuel (oil and natural gas) power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment. You will check measurement devices (e.g., feed water regulators, flow meters, flue gas temperature gauges, water level indicators) to determine if boilers are operating within prescribed limits. You will perform operational maintenance and make repairs of limited/moderate complexity on mechanical or electrical parts.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Elements for this position are: 1) Starting, stopping, monitoring, adjusting, and performing operational and preventive maintenance on boilers, feed water pumps and chemical metering pumps; 2) Performing chemical analysis of boiler water, feed water, steam, and condensate to evaluate operation of water treatment equipment and chemical addition; and 3) Performing operations tests upon completion of repairs to insure that equipment and systems operate as intended.
