This position is located within the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Range Management Research Unit, Las Cruces, New Mexico.
In this position, you will be providing analysis and coordination in support of the data collection and management process; developing website design strategies for new websites; and coordinating with technical staff, or collaborators to identify data software or processing needs.
Duties
Provides analysis and coordination in support of the data collection and management process for RMRU, as well as multiple ARS and non-ARS partners.
Coordinates the designing and building of websites for projects serving data and information in HTML, PHP, Drupal, WordPress, and Java.
Provides coordination and support for data management for RMRU’s vegetation monitoring and wind erosion research programs and projects, and to provide support for websites and applications serving data to the public.
Coordinates and participates in the development of training materials for use of vegetation monitoring databases.
Provides guidance and assistance in organizing, analyzing, locating, and evaluating a wide variety of information, which requires coordinating with representatives from other Federal, State, and local land management agencies.
Requirements

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Time in grade: Applicants must have one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-09 grade level for consideration for the GS-11 grade level).
GS-11
Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: Qualifying experience for GS-11 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-09 which is directly related to the work of this position, and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience providing analysis and coordination in support of the data collection and management process; developing website design strategies for new websites; and coordinating with technical staff, or collaborators to identify data software or processing needs.
OR
Education: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related. Related degrees include Program Management, Data Management, Computer Information System and Database Administration.
OR
A combination of education and experience as described above.
