About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10 and Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command in Warren, MI

Duties

Ensure security policy and regulations are followed in regard to industrial, information, personnel, operations, physical and counterintelligence security, as well as foreign disclosure. In accordance with applicable security regulations and supplements, provides guidance on how needed security standards can be met and maintained. Prepare security classification guides. Plan, develop and implement security program operations for TACOM and supported organizations. Conduct announced and unannounced security inspections and security assistances visits, as well as after-hours inspections. Prepare Operational Security (OPSEC) forms. Render decisions or coordinate situations relating to the employment of security waivers. Enabling recommendations relating to security needs of existing physical structures, modifications thereto, and new constructions. Prepare DD254 forms; Department of Defense Contact Security Classification Specification.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This position requires the incumbent to obtain the SFPC certification within their first two years of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Industrial SecurityInformation SecurityOperations SecuritySecurity Program Management Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
