About the Position: Position may be filled as a temporary promotion not to exceed 5 years by a current permanent Army Employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Position may be filled as a TERM appointment not to exceed 5 years if candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. This position will not be made permanent.
Duties
Manage a Regional Operations Branch that coordinates plans, and programs eligible foreign governments’ security cooperation education and training requirements.
Identify professional development opportunities and training needs of employees providing or arranging for needed growth and training.
Serve as First Line Supervisor.
Assist countries in the development of their security cooperation education and training plans to include programming applicable courses and International Military Students (IMS) Data.
Requirements
- TDY up to 25% of the time may be required.
- Tier 3 Secret clearance required.
- Incumbent will be required to complete Security Cooperation Workforce Development certification (Intermediate Level) within three years of being employed with SATFA.
- Must be willing to accept a term position and serve a one-year trial period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Understanding and executing security assistance training regulations, guidance, and international military student policies; 2.) Coordinating extensive projects in assigned areas of responsibilities; 3.) Presenting written and oral information on the scope, methods and result of analysis; AND 4.) Participating in multi-discipline teams, (i.e. military, civilian and partner countries) in order to establish relationships. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
