About the Position: This position serves as a case analyst in the Military Review Boards, Army Review Boards Agency. Conducts in-depth analysis of applications, all supporting information, and governing regulatory authorities submitted to the Army Review Boards Agency for the purpose of correcting errors or injustices in military records.
Duties
Review and analyze applications to properly interpret situations in the context of military personnel statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.
Provide written materials to dispute interrelated facts that must be reconstructed from evidence ranging from circumstantial to sworn testimony during the adjudication process.
Utilize communication skills to ensure that internal and external communications are sound, factual, logical, neutral-in-tone, and properly conveyed.
Present details in a logical and comprehensive format that informs the board and ultimately the applicant of all decisions made.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- May be expected to travel occasionally for this position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing applications and supporting documentation for the purpose of correcting errors or injustices on military records; applying policies and regulations to know when actions require legal or medical input; and providing reports to leadership to facilitate board review. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
