You will serve as a Transportation Assistant (Personal Property) in the Personal Property Branch, Distribution Management Office, G-4, of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will will perform household goods service counseling in support of United States Transportation Command’s Defense Personal Property Program.
You will counsel service members, dependents, or civilian employee on shipment and/or storage entitlements.
You will counsel the member on their allowances, restrictions, and steps needed to follow to receive reimbursement
You will review inbound and outbound documentation for completeness, drafts messages or emails when necessary to obtain inbound documentation.
You will receive and respond to inquiries from service members regarding servicing/booking arrangements.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

Qualifications
GS-06
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Receiving and reviewing applications for moves between local residence; 2) Understanding, interpreting, and verifying personal property bills placed in transportation systems of records or other communication means; 3) Estimating the weight of property to be shipped; and 4) Obtaining data on any unusual items requiring special packing, and consignee information.
GS-05
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Determining methods of shipment; 2) Estimating the weight of property to be shipped; and 3) Receiving and responding to inquiries regarding servicing/booking arrangements.
