Duties
Monitors functional and technical aspects of the Defense Travel System (DTS) to ensure continued operations and system availability
Coordinates with the DTS Finance Defense Travel Administrator (FDTA) to perform a variety of budgetary and administrative functions in support of the organization’s travel program, policies, and procedures
Monitors and updates budget data on a continuous basis
Analyze complex and/or problem transactions, report and process financial data as required
Provide advice and assistance on financial management and accounting matters relevant to DTS

- Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Specialized Experience at the GS-07 level is as follows: Researching and interpreting financial regulations, policies and laws related to financial travel entitlements; analyzing and evaluating reports and data from automated financial systems to identify issues and discrepancies in financial data; and providing guidance for automated financial systems to users.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
Education
GS-9 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
