About the Position: Serve under the general supervision of the Deputy G1 providing variety of office management and administrative support services. These duties will encompass but are not limited to office procedures that include administrative, clerical, and automated work within the office.
Duties
Receives visitors and directs to appropriate office.
Takes messages and schedules appointments for management.
Answers phone calls and responds to requests for information.
Prepares military memorandums or correspondence.
Prepares documents for correct format, accuracy, and grammar.
Prepares signs and communications rosters for the organization.
Provides timekeeping duties.
Maintains reports and administrative files as required.
Creates, organizes, and manages office supply and inventory.
Manages training requirements for compliance.
Responsible for organizational supply purchasing.
Operates a PC utilizing popular software applications and programs.
Prepares and routes actions through appropriate levels.
Prepares travel orders.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative support in an office setting utilizing office automations and tools to complete assigned tasks and preparing correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Additional Minimum Qualifications Requirement: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
