About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility, and Security Joint Base Myer - Henderson Hall, Virginia. Fort Myer is a 15 minute commute to/from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, a 10-15 minute commute to/from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station.

Duties

Serves as the Antiterrorism Officer (ATO) for Garrison Antiterrorism (AT) program in support of the Force Protection (FP) mission. Directs the development, implementation, and operation of an integrated AT program. Guides crisis management planning and execution in the event of a terrorist attack. Provides planning advice to the Garrison Commander and Commanding General on new policies, resolution of complex vulnerabilities, crisis management, and possible threats to the garrisons. Plans, formulates, and coordinates all matters pertaining to the protection and security of personnel, property and material against terrorist threats. Conducts comprehensive review and analysis of the garrison's AT plan, assessments, and survey reports for compliance with existing policies, procedures and supporting documents. Performs staff visits to the garrison subordinate activities to provide guidance on policy and ensure compliance with AT program objectives. Plans, develops, and administers vital AT and FP projects and programs which are central to the mission of the organization. Coordinates implementation of AT Plans. Oversees the FP Fusion Cell and AT/FP Working Group and advises the garrison Crisis Management Team. Coordinates with Intelligence and Law Enforcement Agencies to develop Risk, Vulnerability and Criticality Assessments. Develops Courses of Action to mitigate risk and vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, implementing, and maintaining anti-terrorism and force protection programs protecting personnel, facilities, automated information and assets from a variety of threats; communicating with senior management at various levels to ensure antiterrorism requirements are compliant; and executing Antiterrorism budget.
