About the Position: This position is located at WR National Military Medical Center Director for Clinical Support Department of Radiology.

Duties

Serves as the clinical manager for Radiation Oncology. Coordinates and consults with Service Chief or designated supervisor on program administrative matters. Maintains files in support of assigned program. Schedules appointments in MHS Genesis and other EHRs and makes arrangements for meetings. Monitors and manages employee/students training plans. Reviews cost center financial reports; monitors expenditures. Develops, accumulates and maintains a variety of statistical data reflecting effectiveness and efficiency, narrative explanations for variations indicated. Monitors and coordinates personnel matters. Establishes and maintains a manpower database for the assigned service. Prepares reports, justifications, charts, graphs, and narrative data for presentations and briefings. Manages data in excel spreadsheet to support the directorate. Uses thorough knowledge of the standards of the ACGME in accrediting individual programs, the institution, and the consortium for the provision of graduate medical education. Coordinates various GME-wide educational functions and processes while maintaining and overseeing program and trainee database administration and management.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes identifying problems with health care processes and recommend alternatives to improve processes; preparing administrative policies and procedures for implementation; monitoring in the preparation of the annual budget; and identifying significant trends and issues regarding health care services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Problem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
