About the Position: Serves as Supervisory Health System Specialist in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of administrative functions in support of a large subordinate element within an assigned Deputy Command. Administrative functions include personnel, budget, administration, and logistics. Working of work 0730 - 1630 Bldg 19 2nd Floor Department Rehabilitation

Duties
Oversee Program Management, identifying problems with Healthcare System processes and recommending alternatives to improve processes, identifying and reporting any quality improvement issues.
Coordinate and consult with supervisors and subordinates on program administrative matters.
Prepare and submit personnel, budget, contract, and logistics requirements.
Manage/Oversee of government contracts.
Assist in development and execution of department and service budget and assist subordinate Health System Specialists in developing and reviewing budget plans for their services.
Analyze healthcare policies/procedures/programs to ensure they are beneficial, cost-effective, and meet quality/productivity standards.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 1? Non-Sensitive, Low Risk clearance.
- Required to complete a 1 Year Supervisory Probationary Period if not already completed.
- This position may require periodic immunizations (other than the influenza vaccine) and tuberculosis monitoring.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes identifying problems with and advising on Healthcare System processes; providing analysis/recommendations for a quality improvement program; assisting with monitoring and/or coordinating personnel matters; and monitoring and assisting in the preparation of the annual budget, determining whether requests for funds and expenditures are proper, justified, and timely. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
