About the Position: This is a PERMANENT Budget Analyst position located at US Army Recruiting Command, Medical Recruiting Brigade, in Fort Knox, KY. Incumbent will maintain budgeting systems, develop an annual operating budget, and utilize an automated accounting system to maintain funds on behalf of assigned Battalion.
Duties
Create presentations using Grafts, Slides, PDFs, and Workbooks.
Execute Government Travel and Purchase Card functions and policies.
Utilize General Fund Enterprise Business Systems to complete Budget Fund Transfers, Cost Transfers, Journal Vouchers, and Fund Certification.
Perform Defense Travel System functions such as authorizations and vouchers.
Utilize PowerPoint, Adobe, Excel, MS A365 Teams and Sharepoint to report information.
Requirements
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) less than 25% required in this position.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a level 2 Financial Management Certificate FMC02
- May be required to serve a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service, which includes: prepare operating budgets; allocate costs; maintain general ledger; create financial reports and analyze funding requirements.
OR
Education: Masters degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or completion of all requirements for a LL.B or J.D. degree from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
