About the Position: Serves as Senior Budget Analyst who will be responsible for command wide fund control and budget formulation and execution. Incumbent develops and maintains budget/financial systems for command wide application and provides technical supervision and leadership to several other analysts involved in multiple budget/financial management functional areas.
Duties
Utilizes financial management database systems to extract data to be used in the formulation of trend reports and cost models.
Sustains existing financial management and budget systems by assuring automated program requirements are met.
Provide technical assistance to command personnel to ensure proper utilization and operations of financial management systems.
Consolidates budget data to prepare a multitude of budget summary reports.
Interprets funding documents (i.e., Fund Allowance Documents) to provide guidance to personnel and supervisors within command.
Reports changes to funding requirements to higher headquarter officials.
Analyzes existing budget and funding data to determine the appropriate reprogramming of funds
Directs the work of subordinate budget personnel to ensure the appropriate formulation of the Command Operating Budget.
Assists in establishing major command objectives through analysis of missions and functions of the finance office
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring and distributing funds to ensure compliance with budgetary objectives ;utilizing financial management policies to resolve budgetary issues; assisting in the management of multiple budgets and/or financial management systems to maintain data; and providing guidance to workforce on existing financial and/or budget systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
