About the Position: Serves as the Budget Analyst in the Headquarters, Victory Corps, Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-8, Financial Programs & Resources Budget Branch. Performing a variety of duties involving the planning, analysis, formulation, justification, presentation, execution, and review of multi-year budgets for assigned units.
Duties
Provides decision support and analysis to support the budget and budget execution.
Analyzes budgetary relationships to develop recommendations for financial actions under various conditions and time pressure.
Recommends financial policies and procedures for financial analysis to support management decisions.
Evaluates programs and funds received from higher headquarters to determine the need for adjustments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Must be able to work extended and/or other than normal duty hours, including evenings, nights.
- Must be able perform a Temporary Change of Station (TCS) for not less than 6 months.
- Must be able to work under austere living conditions, as well as, share accommodation under field conditions (containers, tents and/or barracks).
- Must be able to perform business related travel up to 60% of the time.
- Financial Management Certification (FMC) – FMC Level 2 must be obtained within two (2) years of entry on duty. Once certified, the incumbent must meet the continuing education training requirement as outlined in DoDI 1300.26.
- Must be able to receive inoculations IAW DoD requirements for travel to specific countries.
- Must be able to travel using military transportation or non-commercial means of travel.
- This position is designated Mission and Furlough Essential.
- IAW DoD Policy, must be able to obtain and maintain a no-fee Special Issuance Passport (SIP) and associated visa while assigned to a Federal civilian position in an area requiring a passport and associated visa.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience analyzing, formulating, and executing the budget; experience monitoring, tracking obligations and expenditures reports experience recommending procedures, implementing budget process policies, and regulations; experience preparing status reports on funds.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 11 or above]).
