Duties
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates a variety of incoming accounting reports to interpret results of
operations, to track financial trends and events, and to resolve complex and diverse fiduciary and/or financial management problems.
Analyzes reports for data integrity completeness, consistency, and conformance with regulatory directives and procedures, and correction of errors prior to release of final reports.
Participates in decision-making sessions and advises financial managers and program directors on regulatory requirements, financial policies, and data interpretation.
Establishes and monitors internal control systems.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience is defined as: providing support for financial/accounting systems; applying and advising on financial system policies and procedures; performing extensive business process analysis through evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations. Compiling financial management business processes from various sources to ensuring their accuracy and efficiency as it pertains to financial legislation and operational policies and procedures surrounding automated financial systems.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS-12 position or higher in the preceding 52 weeks on a permanent competitive appointment may be considered.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level.
