You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSANALYSIS) in the N6 of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP EIGHT.
Duties
You will interact, advise, and assist SOCOM, NSWC, all NSWG-8 subordinate commands, and other Department of the Navy (DoN) and Department of Defense organizations routinely to ensure effective IT programmatic support.
You will be directly responsible for the integration and proper configuration of ICT networked and stand-alone appliances, equipment, and architecture per SOCOM, NSW, and NSWG-8 policy.
You will document and address the organization's information security, cybersecurity architecture, and systems security engineering requirements throughout the acquisition life cycle.
You will manage and monitor networks, systems, and applications, executes enterprise-wide implementation of such systems where required, and ensures adherence to SIE computer security policies and risk mitigation strategies.
You will serve as the primary Knowledge Management Officer for NSWG-8.
You will be responsible for the maintenance and development of the NSWG-8 SharePoint sites on NIPR, SIPR, and SOCRATES.
You will coordinate with external knowledge management related organizations and activities to identify knowledge management methodologies and approaches for NSWG-8 use; this includes academia, corporations, and other government agencies.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023, and supporting Department of Navy policies.
Qualifications
You are required to have one year of information technology (IT) related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: evaluating IT systems security to identifying vulnerabilities and/or potential security violations or problems.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing expert consulting assistance to users in the use of telecommunications software and connectivity.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: coordinating and communicating with customers to resolve IT related issues and/or persuade to meet IT project objectives.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to develop new or modified work methods to analyze and resolve complex problems.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: coordinating the review and analysis of IT telecommunication networks to identify and resolve operational issues for an organization.
