You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the LOGISTICS AND LIFE CYCLE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
Duties
You will identify, review, assess and resolve deficiencies throughout the life cycle of in-service systems.
You will analyze and define the documentation of network and communications requirements associated with the intelligence sensors, submarine communications networks, and maritime surveillance systems.
You will maintain and modernize in-service IUSS communications, network and IT systems architecture and infrastructure.
You will configure and optimize network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and proxy devices in compliance with all information security assurance policies and principles.
You will conduct technical reviews of Contractor Deliverables and perform Contracting Officer Representative (COR) duties as assigned.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 level Apprentice within 12 months of appointment.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Overtime work will/may be required in this position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or NO-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leadership abilities in working with virtual team members; experience in design, integration, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of communications, network and associated cryptographic devices and a firm understanding of network architecture and systems interfacing to include System of Systems (SoS) interoperability.

In addition to the specialized experience, your resume must demonstrate one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Problem Solving: Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; seeks/generates and evaluates alternative perspectives/solutions; makes timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions. Critically evaluates to identify the causes of problems and chooses courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders.
2. Information Technology Life Cycle Management: Plan, develop and/or manage processes across the information systems/services life cycle to ensure Information Technology capabilities meet current and future organizational and enterprise missions.
3. Information Technology Test and Evaluation: Test, monitor and evaluate Information Technology technologies during design, development, procurement and/or implementation to ensure internal and external requirements are met.
