The Electronics Technician performs highly specialized technical work by applying broad experience and advanced technical knowledge in the field of electronics and electric I theory using various types of basic and complex electronics test equipment.

Duties

Serves as an independent contributor on large work activities, or as a team leader for single or small work activities associated with analyzing, designing, developing, installing, repairing, fabricating, maintaining, modifying, or evaluating FAA, DoD, International, and/or other Agency systems. Responsibilities and duties include work in connection with at least one or more of the following systems: Communications, Navigation and Landing, Surveillance and Weather Radar, Environmental, or Automation Equipment.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Successful completion of a security investigation will be required.

  • A pre-employment physical is required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-H (GS/FG-12) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G (GS/FG-10/11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes analyzing, designing, developing, installing, repairing, fabricating, maintaining, modifying, evaluating electronic systems and equipment; experience utilizing a variety of electronic test equipment; planning and directing the installation of complex systems and associated NAS equipment; and/or designing and analyzing circuits, determining feasibility of these designs, evaluating equipment performance under varying environmental conditions, collecting data, or designing or modifying designs to achieve performance and cost objectives etc.Applicant should include examples of specialized experience in their Work History.ANDPre-employment Physical Requirements: You must be able to perform efficiently the essential functions of the position without hazard to yourself or others. Selectee must pass a pre-employment physical prior to appointment.
