About the Position: This position is located at G-3/5/7 Deputy G3 Training, Security Assistance Training Field Activity, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.
Duties
Serves as the Senior Budget Analyst in the Security Assistance Training Field Activity (SAFTA), Financial Management Division.
Responsible for funding Continental United States (CONUS)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) training of international students under the Security Cooperation/Security Assistance Training Programs.
Reviews and validates funding requirements from Standardized Training listings.
Initiates and executes funding procedures in the Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS).
Advises management on the preparation and transactional flow of detailed financial activity.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The incumbent must complete SCW Certification, Intermediate level training within 3 years of their appointment to this position.
- Must be able to obtain the Financial Management Level 2 certification within 24 months from hire date.
- TDY up to 20% may be required.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes independently managing, executing, and controlling the budget of an organization concerned with security cooperation/security assistance training; reviewing, analyzing and validating funding requirements; reconciling a variety of complicated categories of funds; resolving problems in processing standard and non-standard transactions; and utilization of accounting/budgeting systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
