You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Electrical) in the Public Works Business Line (PWBL), Utilities and Energy Management (UEM) Product Line of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will communicate with customer and coordinating maintenance services. You will screen work requirements considering issues of safety, urgency, priority. You will maintain budget, tracking estimates and expenditures. You will review projects in scope, complexity, and design to ensure that work is compatible with facility systems and customer mission. You will communicate customer concerns and make recommendations for prioritizing projects to ensure that the needs of the tenants are met.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is part of a regionalized command. The incumbent may be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within NAVFAC Hampton Roads area, as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

For the GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting with customer and coordinating maintenance service; 2) Screening work requirement considering issues of safety, urgency, priority; 3) Maintaining budget, tracking estimates and expenditures; 4) Reviewing projects in scope, complexity, and design to ensure that work is compatible with facility systems and customer mission; 5) Communicating customer concerns and make recommendations for prioritizing projects to ensure that the needs of the tenants are met. For the GS-11: If applying as a VEO/Non-Federal employee - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Communicating with customer and coordinating maintenance service; 2) Screening work requirement considering issues of safety, urgency, priority; 3) Maintaining budget, tracking estimates and expenditures; 4) Reviewing projects in scope, complexity, and design to ensure that work is compatible with facility systems and customer mission; 5) Communicating customer concerns and make recommendations for prioritizing projects to ensure that the needs of the tenants are met.
