About the Position: This position is located at TRADOC Headquarters, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, Fort Eustis. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield. A Recruitment or Relocation Incentive may be authorized.

Duties

Plan and coordinate the execution of the manpower program for the agency. Research data information sources for assessments, management studies and budgetary data to inform organizational manpower planning. Plans and coordinates the execution of manpower program requirements, use of manpower information/data systems/ and preparation of concept change management plans. Brief manpower program issues to management at meetings, briefings, or forums.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementManages and Organizes InformationOral CommunicationOrganizational Performance Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
