Deputy to the Assistant Chief of Staff for Support who provides guidance and direction for the development of support strategies and strategic initiatives, readiness analysis of globally position stocks, medical maintenance operations, and inventory management within two Theater Lead Agents for Medical Materiel. The incumbent assists in optimizing business practices to best support external customer requirements and communicate across the Army Sustainment Community to ensure mission success.
Duties
Oversee and establish guidance and direction for the development of support strategies and strategic initiatives.
Lead operational medical logistics study teams that negotiate with officials to accept and implement recommendations involving substantial agency resources.
Deputy to the Assistant Chief of Staff for Support (ACSSPT) regarding deliberate medical logistics concepts development in support of the Army.
Ensure compliance with applicable guidance, policy, regulations and laws while executing oversight of support operations.
Direct and lead all aspects of strategic support planning, concept development, operational activities and support plans integration for Headquarters AMLC and Direct Reporting Units (DRU).
Develop policies and procedures for staff operations within the Strategic and Materiel Readiness Directorates.
Exercise the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities in directing work of subordinate staff.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Designated as "Key" position in accordance with AR 690-11.
- One year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: (1) Establishing guidance for the development of strategic initiatives for operational medical logistics capabilities and processes; (2) Implementing applicable guidance, policies, regulations and procedures that government medical logistics to ensure compliance; (3) Overseeing the preparation of logistics planning in support of global mission; (4) Managing subordinate personnel.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
