About the Position: Incumbent is assigned as an Operations Specialist (Watch Officer) within the G3 Operations Division of the U.S. Army 20th CBRNE Command, a FORSCOM Major Subordinate Command (MSC) level organization. Initiating operations planning and establishing and facilitating communications throughout the MSC and external commands as required; conducting mission analysis, risk analysis and preparations for deploying.
Duties

Conducts research utilizing programs and software.

- This position requires the incumbent to possess, obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires employee must pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
- May require the incumbent to work various shift operations. In addition, this position will require some periodically recurring work on weekends.
- This position may require business travel 10% of the time to include overnight travel away from normal duty station.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes;
(1) Perform staff operations to coordinate a variety of contingency operational plans; AND
(2) Conduct mission's analysis from a variety of data sources; AND
(3) Work in the areas of contingency missions, consequence management, tasking, and current operations.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Security Management, Business, etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
