About the Position: This position is located in the Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Field Support Operations, Fleet Management Expansion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Duties

Serve as the technical and administrative supervisor over Army ground and support equipment field level maintenance personnel, exercising responsibility over work operations. Plan daily, weekly and monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates. Develop performance standard, counsel employee on performance, and make formal and informal performance appraisals. Establish deadlines and priorities based on general work schedules and methods and policies established by higher levels of supervision. Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle. Must possess and maintain an appropriate valid civilian and military driver's licenses.
• Applicant must undergo a pre-employment and annual medical exam to meet physical efforts requirements of lifting and carrying up to 40lbs and occasional heavy lifting of objects up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

I can: 1) establish deadlines, priorities, work sequences and work assignments based on schedules, methods and policies set by supervisors; 2) perform inspections on maintenance/repair work on Army ground equipment to maintain serviceability conditions as dictated by federal and state laws and regulations; 3) perform and review classification inspections and estimated cost of damage inspections for correctness to ensure equipment costs are properly identified; 4) review rejected equipment inspections to identify trends and make recommendations to leadership on corrective actions;and 5) utilize automated supply/maintenance management systems to maintain maintenance production reports. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers and with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists, and cranes. Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside, frequently in cramped and awkward positions. Shop area is frequently inadequately heated. Works in dirty, greasy, and noisy atmosphere and possibility exists for injury from dropped units and parts, slipping tools, slipping from work positions. Inside work is usually performed on concrete floors and involves frequent exposure to exhaust fumes.
