You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Installation, Logisitics & Environmental Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You will provide general program management and implementation in support of the Installation's potable water plant operations by planning, developing, inspecting, permitting activities and studies needed to evaluate MCAS Yuma's compliance. You will consult with the water plant lead operator to develop a multi-year sampling plan for all water plant operations to ensure and all sampling is completed according to regulatory protocols. You will assist senior managers with preparation and presentation of Safety Drinking Water Act (SDWA) information at all town hall meetings. You will receive technical reports and laboratory analyses for compliance impacts related to the installation's storm water permits. You will review contractor’s inspection reports and assess mechanical or technical requirements for continued safe operation of tank systems.

  • Must maintain proper physical fitness and undergo periodic training on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response equipment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing environmental laws and regulations to assess and analyze environmental issues, assisting an organization in environmental compliance and prevention issues and crafting guidance and policy for an organization's environmental needs.
