You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Range Compliance & Inspection Division, Environmental Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You will plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate, and coordinate one or more environmental protection programs for all areas of the installation You will identify environmental abatement projects needed by the installation. You will develop project plans, outline environmental policies and identify long term and short-term goals and objectives. You will integrate new or redefined procedures with the latest amended theories and techniques to the managed programs. You will coordinate with higher level staff regarding cost or controversial project that are covered under the Comprehensive Enviromental Response Compensation and Liability act (CERCLA) You will budget for program needs and provide input and manage resources through project completion. You will function as the team leader of audit teams to conduct inspections of installation facilities. You will provide guidance to appropriate installations to correct violations or to meet new program requirements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Researching, analyzing, interpreting, and applying environmental compliance rules, regulations (e.g. including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)), and procedures to programs focused on waste management, conducting compliance site inspections, and collecting data; 2) Planning, managing, and implementing environmental protection programs or projects and determining the approach to be taken; and 3) Providing technical and administrative oversight of environmental projects and contracts (e.g. scopes-of-work, specifications, and estimates). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
