You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIROMENTAL DEPARTMENT of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties

You Will Manage one more environmental programs. You Will identify environmental abatement projects needed by the installation. You will develop project plans, outline environmental policies and identify long term and short-term goals and objectives. You will integrate new or redefined procedures with the latest amended theories and techniques to the managed programs. You will coordinating with higher level staff regarding cost or controversial project that are covered under the Comprehensive Enviromental Response Compensation and Liability act (CERCLA) You will budget for program needs and provide input and manage resources through project completion You will function as the team leader of audit teams to conduct inspections of installation facilities. You Will provide guidance to appropriate installations to correct violations or to meet new program requirements.

  • Must be able to obtain MCAS Yuma, AZ base driving priviliges; Appropriate, valid driver's license; Position requires that the employee be certified in the use of a respirator
  • Overtime/Required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays/may be recalled to duty

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following in the creation and development of project plans for environmental abatement programs for complex multi-mission military installations And environmental protection projects that impact local growing urban areas . Also must demonstrate a general environmental compliance knowledge including the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Department of Transportation (DOT), established principles, concepts, and methods of environmental protection work focusing on waste management, compliance site inspections, collecting data, and possessing/demonstrating the skill to apply the basic knowledge in performing a variety of routine environmental RCRA and CERCLA programs.
