You will serve as a Environmental Protection Specialist in the Environmental Department of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA.

Duties
You will draft written plans and schedules and set milestones for accomplishing program goals.
You will, upon request, apply for required permits and maintain their currency in accordance with pertinent regulations.
You will provide general environmental information on National Environmental Policy Act documents as they relate to the SDWA.
You will prepare project justifications and develops multi-year program budgets in support of Navy and Marine Corps environmental regulations.
You will serves as a member of the spill response team.
You will review technical reports and laboratory analyses for compliance impact related to the installations storm water permits.

- You will be required to obtain Backflow Prevention Tester Certification.
- You will be required to obtain Cross-Connection Specialist Certification.
- You will be required to obtain Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification.
- You will be required to obtain Distribution System Operator Certification.
- You will be required to obtain Arizona Class A, B, and C Underground Storage Tank (UST) Operator Certification.
Qualifications
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: General environmental compliance knowledge including the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and Clean Water Act (CWA); Experience developing plans, implementing and coordinating a complete environmental program; and conducting environmental compliance audits and inspections.
In addition to the Selective Placement Factor, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Coordinating environmental matters for an organization including environmental program compliance, pollution inspections, and managing a hazardous waste program; 2) Knowledge of fuel distribution systems; 3) Assisting with preparing funding documents and reports; 4) Conducting and leading environmental compliance audits and inspections; and 5) Developing, implementing, and coordinating an environmental program.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
- Have 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
OR
- Possess a combination of education and experience described above.
