About the Position: This position is located at Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command, DCS G-3/5/7, Training, Security Assistance Training Field Activity, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.
Duties
Serve as a Security Assistance Training Specialist to the Security Assistance Training Field Activity (SATFA) and US Army training and education system advisor.
Responsible for planning, programming, scheduling, and administration of security assistance training programs for all foreign countries and international organizations within assigned geographical area of responsibility.
Maintain Department of Defense and organizational databases for the Security Assistance Training Field Activity (SATFA) .
Apply knowledge in Security Assistance and DOD organizations to the oversight of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and the International Military Education and Training (IMET) programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance for the duration of their employment.
- This position requires the incumbent to perform TDY up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) liaising with foreign contacts to coordinate annual military training requirements; 2) monitoring security assistance training programs such as Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and International Military Education and Training (IMET) program; 3) maintaining a variety of security assistance training databases such as the Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS); and 4) initiating security assistance tasks such as initiating orders, course schedules, and security clearances. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
