About the Position: The Executive Officer position is assigned to the JPEO-CBRND Headquarters. The selected applicant will report directly to the JPEO-CBRND Chief of Staff. This position is subject to the NH-04 tier three salary control point established in the JPEO-CBRND Acquisition Demo Business Rules. This control point limits total salary for this position to a max of $172,075 (GS-14, step 10).
Duties
As an Executive Officer, your duties will include providing support to various HQ staff elements to include operations, logistics, human resources, budget/finance, contracting, security, facilities management, information technology, and strategic stakeholder engagements.
Directs the planning, development, implementation and execution of specific programs and projects.
Meets regularly with all Headquarters Staff Directors to discuss issues in their respective areas, formulate solutions and provide resources or higher-level support as needed.
Develop and review command level policies and assess performance improvement initiatives across the enterprise.
Performs the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties: prioritizing and assigning work, assessing performance, and providing mentorship/coaching.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure (OGE Form 450) and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

The JPEO-CBRND exists to manage our nation's investments in Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) defense equipment. Our headquarters is located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, but we have offices across the United States. There are six unique directorates within JPEO-CBRND, which manage the acquisition of CBRN equipment as an enabler to achieving the National Security Strategy and supporting the U.S. Armed Forces: Sensors, Medical, Protection, Integration, Enabling Biotechnologies, and Special Operations Forces.

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the NH-03 pay band (GS-13 grade level equivalent) in the Federal service which includes (1) Utilizing analytical methods and knowledge of the DoD acquisition process to solve complex organizational problems; 2) Developing policies and guidance in support of the organization's overall strategic plan; (3) Utilizing oral and written communication skills to develop presentations and brief higher level authorities on the status of command wide programs and initiatives.
