This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Serves as a senior analyst responsible for overseeing and supporting joint readiness systems and policy development, testing and implementation to support the Joint Staff's Joint Force Coordination responsibilities and developing joint force analysis and readiness policies, processes and doctrine to ensure timely, accurate and relevant force status and ensure readiness data is available to meet Joint Force Coordination.

Duties

As a MANAGEMENT ANALYST at the GS-0343-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Provides information and advice to senior Department of Defense (DoD) leaders and the Joint Staff regarding force analysis data and readiness system requirements necessary to support Joint Force Coordination tasks. Develops and supports management processes and plans to implement joint reporting systems used to accurately portray unit readiness and force status information necessary to support global force management of conventional forces. Coordinates and supports development and analysis of joint readiness and force status reporting systems, concept of operations, requirements, operational test plans to include reviewing information support plans, test and evaluation master plans, and other related documents. Supports development and revision of DoD and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff force reporting and readiness instructions, policies and doctrine. Identifies requirements for special studies or analyses impacting or causing revision of joint force reporting, analyses, processes or doctrine

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Applying qualitative and/or quantitative methods for planning, assessing and improving the effectiveness of management and operational processes, functions, policies and systems; Utilizing management, program, and organizational principles and practices to provide management advisory services and support to key decision makers; Applying knowledge of various command entities involved in overall planning and execution of operations and evaluations; Designing and conducting comprehensive studies, and develops solutions to broad, important, and severe command operational and contingency areas; Applying special access programs to include an understanding of the challenges associated with incorporating them with typical force analysis and readiness reporting systems and processes.; Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
