You will serve as a Program Analyst in the SURF Policy & CERT Branch (N04A1), Directorate Force Assessment and Certification (N04A) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
Duties
You will maintain records of all certifications and and prepare naval messages.
You will Oversee the conduct of Dynamic Positioning (DP) simulation training events by Contract Mariners (CONMARS) as the command representative.
You will Coordinate with Program and Project Office Staff, functional directorates, mission sponsors, ships and other cognizant commands to conduct operational training.
You will attend conferences, meetings and symposiums relevant to Dynamic Positioning (DP) training, operation and maintenance, representing COMSC as Type Commander.
You will prepare briefings for internal and external customers.
You will adjust work procedures to accommodate resource allocation decisions made at higher echelons.
You will decide the methodologies to use in achieving work goals and objectives, and in determining other management strategies.
You will respond to questions and/or issues that arise in regards to Navigation and Ship handling safety of the T-AGSE class ships.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
-Experience in performing assessments and/or inspections (e.g. serious enough to inform the Chain of Command a vessel can't meet mission if inspection standards are not met).
-Experience in applying analytical, evaluative methods, and/or applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices of audit/ inspection procedures sufficient to perform difficult and complex assessments.
-Experience and/or expert knowledge of ship construction, firefighting, damage control techniques, and Dynamic Positioning (DP) operations and facilities.
-Experience making recommendations for the development of policy changes, changes in requirements, levels of appropriations, and/or other regulated changes.
-Experience as the single point of contact for scheduling, leading inspections, recommending and/or implementing assessment policy and procedures that will determine if a vessel remains certified to conduct their mission.
