The selectee of this position serves as a Budget Analyst. You will be responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative and analytical duties connected with budget formulation.
Duties
As a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Prepare and consolidate the agency budget request and associated narrative justifications, and required exhibits and performance data.
Performs in-depth analysis of budget requests and funding proposals and makes recommendations to senior leaders.
Advising and consulting with organizational programs managers in all phases of the budget cycle.
Identifies opportunities and recommends process improvements to the budgetary process, policies, and procedures.
Prepares budget briefing materials (e.g. narrative responses, data requests, and formulation guidance).

Qualifications
GS-13 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted).
You may qualify at the GS-0560-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
Have at least one year of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing duties such as: 1) Performing budget execution and budget formulation functions for multiple field, district offices, and/or division/headquarters; 2) Monitoring and reviewing accounting systems to track obligations, expenditures, and flow of funds; 3) Providing advice, recommendations, and assistance for budgetary actions to personnel from multiple field, district offices, and/or division/headquarters; 4) Identifying opportunities and recommending improvements to budgetary processes, policies, and procedures; and5)Prepares and presents budget execution and budget formulation briefing materials.
