About the Position: TACOM is located in Southeastern Michigan, North of Detroit with nearby universities, world-class museums, art galleries,
concert halls, golf courses, and collegiate and professional athletic venues. The Soldier is truly the focus of everything we do. May be assigned to
work at TACOM offices on Detroit Arsenal, Garrison, Selfridge Air National Guard Base, or a TACOM leased private facility within the Detroit Metro
Area.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
Develops, reviews, and analyzes Headquarters Department of Army (HQDA), Headquarters Army Materiel Command (HQ AMC) and other published orders for Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) support requirements.
Develops, coordinates, staffs and publishes TACOM orders identifying specified and implied tasks and coordinating instructions for TACOM staff, subordinates and enterprise partners.
Applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assess, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.
Serves as an action officer, project leader, liaison and operations specialist within Strategic Planning and Operations, TACOM G-3 Operations and Plans.
Chairs and conducts multi-function teams, conferences, Interim Progress Reviews IPRs, and planning session to establish and implement specific policy guidelines, milestones, and execute command level events.
Presents briefings to General Officers and senior executive service (SES) members on a routine basis on programs and issues.
Coordinates and/or supports the TACOM Staff Assistance Visit (SAV) and Command Inspection Program (CIP) per the guidance of the TACOM Commander.
Reviews, analyzes, and updates TACOM strategic plans to support National Defense Strategy or specific Combatant Command COCOM plans.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Requires Data Analytics Level II certification within 24 months from date of hire.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
