You will serve as a CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (MEGA PROJECTS) in the PLANNING, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS LINE of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will manage multiple priorities and provide technical recommendations/solutions to complex problems encountered during the administration of the construction contracts. You will manage the contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensuring timely responses. You will utilize knowledge of construction safety principles and practices in administration of assigned projects to mitigate any safety incidents on the project. You will assist in negotiation of contract modifications to the extent possible and within designated thresholds under the direction of the Contracting Officer to ensure the most fair and reasonable cost is determined.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) 10+ Years in Construction. (2) Construction Management knowledge and abilities applicable to a wide range of concepts, theories, principles, practices, and techniques of the construction industry, with emphasis on how they relate to military facilities. (3) The incumbent must be able to manage multiple priorities and independently develop and provide technical recommendations/solutions to complex problems encountered during the administration of construction contracts on multiple large scale projects to include Mega Sized projects with high complexity. (4) Ability to manage multiple large scale projects to include Mega Sized highly complex projects. (5) Provide assistance and technical guidance to other construction managers/engineers/architect. (6) Verbal and written communication skills exercising management and administrative skills in leading the execution of Capital Improvement projects.
