You will serve as an Supervisory Administrative Management Specialist in the Administrative Branch (Code 902.2), Business Manager (Code 902), Production Department Analysis & Business Manager (Code 900A), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resource Department (Code 900) in the at NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will provide administrative assistance and services to the Production Resource Department. You will collaborate with managers in planning and developing extensive management policies and programs. You will establish the written tone and content for the Production Departments awards, incentives, and recognition programs based on current resources. You will conduct daily security inspections and unscheduled surveillances. You will use excellent communication skills with internal and external management, employees, and human resources. You will analyze data using Microsoft office suite for large spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: - Writing personnel and group awards that have required extensive program research, and/or interpretation of complex topics. - Planning and assigning work to ensure quality and timely completion. - Demonstrating skills to manage a team of all new employees and utilizing regulations, policies, and procedures for shipyard training and functions. - Interpreting merit hiring principles, with the knowledge of position descriptions, DOD guidance on DPMAP, and government credit card use and guidelines. - Writing personnel and group awards that have required extensive program research, and/or interpretation of complex topics. - Writing to address a full spectrum of requests to include, official publications, instructions, directives, regulations, pamphlets, circulars, memoranda, policy letters, and request in responding to inquiries from outside sources. - Working with security concepts, methods, practices, and procedures to interpret and apply security regulations.
