About the Position: The purpose of the position is to assist the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Manager under the Army Community Services Director. Duties

Assists in the preparation and facilitation of the EFMP coordinating committee, the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), the Civilian Personnel Office, the Military Personnel Office, and the local school districts. Incumbent collects data by means of mail survey or detailed personal interview, data on, services and resources available within a 40-mile radius of the installation. Establishes and maintains a respite care program for handicapped family members where such services are not available through existing military and civilian activities. Coordinates the provision of recreational and cultural programs for handicapped family members. These activities may include sports (swimming, volleyball, basketball, soccer), summer camp, arts and crafts, music, and dance therapy.

Specialized experience: (1) Identifying, coordinating, and obtaining resources for family members who have physical, developmental, emotional, or intellectual handicaps and (2) Assessing special needs and advising on the availability of special education and health-related services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
