About the Position: Serves as the Instructional Technology Manager (Learning Engineer) for the Office of the Vice Provost for Digital Education (VPDE), who works under the general guidance of the Deputy VPDE. The position serves as an authoritative technical consultant for the interactive courseware process.

Duties

As an Instructional Technology Manager (Learning Engineer), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Serve as the Chief of Courseware Standards and Specifications for the Office of the Vice Provost for Digital Education. Originate technical guidance for advanced courseware acceptance testing concepts and develops and maintains The Army Distributed Learning Program Acceptance Test Plan. Lead major scientific, administrative, regulatory, and policy development aspects and processes for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of distributed learning IMI implementation activities. Serve as a Manager of the Division reporting to the Deputy Vice Provost for Digital Education. Present briefings on Division activities, including those associated with software acceptance testing, work progress, and technical issues.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance throughout the duration of employment.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required up to 5% of the time.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or experience in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, appropriate experience must be directly related to the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) within the specialized experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described in A above. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work which includes: 1) developing, authoring, implementing, and evaluating learning courseware. 2) establishing guidance for courseware testing concepts of professional advanced education and development standards. 3) developing ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data SystemsOral CommunicationTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
