You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Security Manager's Office (SMO) of COMLCSRON THREE.
Duties
You will serve as the chief of the Ships Access Coordination Branch, overseeing domain-wide access for all Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), including those ships forward deployed.
You will analyze the security management program for over 45 LCS subordinate units, crews and detachments.
You will monitor the progress of security clearances investigations, including those pending further review and suspension.
You will prepare and maintains COMLCSRON THREE personnel security clearance access list that includes current authorized access, basis and
agency granting clearances, date authorized, and expiration dates.
You will assist the Security Manager in the designation/certification and recertification of classified spaces, including all buildings, every LCS-class ship, and rooms within the LCSRON THREE domain.
You will use the DOD GateKeeper Security Clearance and Information Portal {CATS) to maintain communicate and forward/receive information pertaining to personnel clearance status from DODCAF.
You will provide all security briefings to include, initial, refresher, foreign travel, NATO, and any other briefing required as dictated by the Navy Security Program agencies.
You will review security directives disseminated by higher authority and updates/revises COMLCSRON THREE directives to comply.
You will draft outgoing correspondence to higher authority when tasked to provide written information for data calls, inventory queries, or personnel security matters.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires the ability to work onboard ships.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector protecting personnel records, entry controls, and/or facilities for a security management program by analyzing security processes and procedures to ensure compliance and safeguard against compromise.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
OR
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; (Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.)
OR
Successful completion of an LL.M., if related to the position being filled;

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of required education plus percentage of required experience must equal one hundred percent.
