The primary purpose of this position is to provide planning and programming support and technical guidance to the Chief, Wargaming and Campaign Planning Branch in planning, organizing, and directing the activities of deliberate planning.
Duties
Plans, manages, and coordinates support for AFMC deliberate planning.
Develops and evaluates AFMC contingency plans.
Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with organizations across the
AF.
Prepares and delivers oral and written communications.

- The incumbent may be required to work overtime or unusual schedules, to include evenings and weekends.
- Position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206).
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, administrative and management positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes the ability to plan and execute complex, multi-faceted projects as well as skills in developing, preparing, coordinating, and implementing policies, procedures, programs, and directives. Must have the ability to stratify resources against approved programs, to plan, present, and execute budgets, to analyze budget impacts on programs, and to forecast long-term funding requirements as well as a high degree level of skill assessing and comparing projections, tradeoffs, strategies, and planning factors to produce fully justified options that can be presented to higher levels of management for use in developing AFMC contingency and wartime plans. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to plan and execute complex, multi-faceted projects.
Ability to develop, prepare, coordinate, and implement policies, procedures, programs, and directives.
Ability to use office automation tools and techniques to design and generate reports, briefing materials,
and/or comparable documents.
Ability to identify problems and develop innovative solutions.
Ability to stratify resources against approved programs, to plan, present, and execute budgets, to
analyze budget impacts on programs, and to forecast long-term funding requirements.
Knowledge of goals, resources, objectives, organizations, functions, and sources pertinent to the
program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and the related customers, functions, resources and
users.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
