The primary duty is to provide administrative information and assistance to the Superintendent and staff, on the practical and technical aspects of office administration under the supervision of the park Administrative Officer. Duties will include acquisition and property/fleet management, human resources, and other administrative support services, and to provide customer service to park staff in support of each of these areas.

Duties

Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work from approximately February through mid January, and you will be in a non-pay status for at least two weeks out of the year. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Saguaro National Park is February through Januarybut can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Position may be filled at the GS-06 level Salary $42,707-55,515 Position may be filled at the GS-07 level Salary $47,457-61,694 Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-11/06/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. Failure to adequately provide information needed to determine number of hours worked in each position may result in that time not being credited when evaluating qualifying experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. SELECTIVE FACTOR: Applicants must possess the Typing Requirement to be qualified for this position. You must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a five-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must self-certify that you meet this typing requirement in the assessment questionnaire. Failure to certify that you meet this requirement will result in your application not receiving further consideration for this position. In addition to meeting the typing requirement, applicants must also meet the specialized experience requirements listed below: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-06: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to: Operation of computerized information systems; drafting reports and correspondence for management from data sources and related files; inputting and processing data related to budget and finance; preparing purchase requests/documents; inputting time and attendance data into a timekeeping system; purchasing and completing required documentation; budget tracking; preparing and entering personnel actions; and coordinating travel arrangements. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-07: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes, but is not limited to: Providing a wide variety of administrative support services to enable efficient operation of a business or program office; the independent operation of computerized information systems; tracking and reconciling fiscal data for programmed accounts versus actual expenditures, preparing and following up on purchase orders and contracts; administering payroll and time and attendance; preparing travel authorizations and vouchers using automated systems and software for travel and voucher preparation; providing direction to staff on mail distribution and routing procedures; composing correspondence, memoranda, reports, etc. using word processing software and computer equipment; conducting inventories of organization's property to document missing or broken items. You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
