You will serve as a MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the Manager, Radiological Controls Support Office (Code 1051S), Radiological Control Office (Code 105) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will collect, separate, and analyze data to provide sound recommendations and accurate information to the division and branch head for submission. You will prepare recurring reports and/or briefing materials for management. You will make recommendations and assign actions for problem areas. You will monitor expenditures incurred against funds available and initiate action to correct anticipated funding issues.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience preparing project papers, reports, graphs, charts and skill in organizing and delivering same to managers to ensure understanding and acceptance of finding and recommendations. Experience with Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word along with other corporate applications such as AIM and others. Experience with metrics, performance indicators and working knowledge of statistical process control. Experience compiling and summarizing information and data to identify inaccuracies or anomalies in the information and to make written recommendations to resolve discrepancies base on interpretation of applicable procedures. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
