About the Position: The Army Review Boards Agency, on behalf of the Secretary of the Army, serves as the highest administrative level for review of personnel actions taken by lower levels of command. Applications are received from military personnel, enlisted and officer, including Army Reserve, National Guard and Regular Army, their heirs or legal representative.

Duties

Serve as an Analyst performing a wide range of fact finding, analytical techniques and procedures to properly interpret varied and complex factual information in the context of military personnel issues specific to discharges/separations. Provide thorough, complete, factual written materials addressing disputed interrelated facts reconstructed from evidence in the official military personnel file, and/or applicant-provided materials. Utilize expert communication skills to ensure internal/external communications are sound, factual, logical, neutral-in-tone, and properly convey salient and minute facts and details in a logical and comprehensive format. Prepare written materials that clearly address all pertinent facts, records, and evidence under review, as well as incorporating legal interpretations or medical evidence received while applying the applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on personnel policies, practices and regulations; reviewing and advising on a variety of personnel issues pertaining to the correction of military records; researching, analyzing, and/or applying personnel policies and procedures in order to make appropriate corrective action to a military record; providing clear and concise written communication on all aspects of military personnel functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
