About the Position: Serves as Engineering Technician and Dosimetry Specialist with the responsibility for providing ionizing radiation dosimetry support to Army personnel whose duties require the use of radio active material and/or ionizing radiation producing devices. This position is with US Army AMCOM TMDE and is located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama.
Duties
providing ionizing radiation dosimetry support to Army personnel whose duties require the use of radioactive material and/or ionizing radiation producing devices.
Developing experimental and theoretical studies designed to improve state-of-the-art measurement methods and techniques for radiation dosimetry.
Tracks lifetime accumulated dosage and physical effects of exposure for the dosimetry and medical surveillance programs.
Analyzes and evaluates the significance of test data.
Prepares test/evaluation reports and graphs as appropriate to indicate precision measurement uncertainty, statistical control limits and relative response.
Search stored programs and data files to update or establish new records and produce desired data and information.
Requirements

GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service which includes familiarization with operation, assembly and calibration of equipment or instruments.

One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as; Engineering.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting with ionizing radiation dosimetry equipment; assisting with developing experimental and theoretical studies.
GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service which includes Providing ionizing radiation dosimetry support that require the use of radioactive material and/or ionizing radiation producing devices; Developing experimental and theoretical studies designed to improve state-of-the-art measurement methods and techniques for radiation dosimetry.
