About the Position: This position will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist located at Fort Liberty, NC.
Position may be filled as Term Appointment Not-to-Exceed 2 years, if the candidate is not a current, permanent Army Employee and may be extended up to 8 years. Position may also be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 2 years by a current, permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be made permanent without further competition.
Duties
Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist responsible for assuring that assigned projects are integrated and properly executed.
Participates in the development, review and coordination of procedural guidance for efficient logistics management within the Directorate of Logistics.
Briefs management on trends and analysis and recommends better ways of doing business.
Reviews work of subordinates for adequacy and compliance with instructions or policy.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
- IAW change 3 to AR-600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, this position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter.
- May be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location.
- May be required to work uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations approximately 25% of the time.
- This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
- This is a Term position not to exceed 2 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
- Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes determining logistics policies, procedures, and regulations; advising on current logistics status and type of logistics support required; identifying trends, misuse, or questionable allocation of funds; and overseeing logistical procedures to analyze and inspect equipment and facilities to determine requirements for supporting logistical operations.
