About the Position:
The position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Moore, Georgia 31905. The "Maneuver Center of Excellence" is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.
Duties
Establish workflow, functional assignments and distribute work to meet demands.
Instruct and direct employees to ensure they understand regulatory guidelines and current operational directives and policies.
Perform supervisory personnel management functions for employees in the assigned work area.
Serve as supervisor and independently processes/completes actions involving routine and recurring unusual or complex procedural or substantive issues.
Schedule, conduct, document, attend, and preside over meeting with support assigned tasks ensuring requirements or objectives are met.
Retrieve data from various information sources for use in answering questions, responding to correspondence, or preparing reports.
Ensure all subordinate users are fully trained and aware of the proper use of hardware and software capabilities to meet mission objectives.
Ensure the operation and operability of a variety of automated systems supporting the assigned military personnel functions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employee must be willing and able to travel in military and commercial aircraft and vehicles.
- Employee is required to work other than duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- Supervisory Probation is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves developing, evaluating, and leading human resource personnel services programs such as transitions, retirement processing, in/out processing, issuing identification cards, processing units/individuals for deployment/redeployment. Utilizing automated systems to support personnel operations and functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management, Business Administration etc.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
