You will serve as a Human Resources Specialist (Classification) in the Human Resources and Organizational Management (HROM) Branch of HQ US MARINE CORPS.

Duties

You will provide managers and employees with specific, directly applicable information on the organization's classification procedures, practices, policies, and guidelines, including assistance with automated Human Resource systems tools You will review classification actions and provides recommendations on routine issues, such as the use of standard position descriptions, routine descriptions of duties, and available alternatives to customized work descriptions. You will give managers specific information on an organization's classification procedures, practices, policies, and guidelines. You will classify professional, specialist, journeyman trades, and/or administrative positions including supervisory jobs.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing position management or classification advisory services to assigned organizations under various personnel systems (e.g. General Schedule, Federal Wage System, etc.); and advisory classifications on routine, established, and noncontroversial jobs covered by existing classification standards, such as for laborer, clerical, technician, assistant, and lower graded supervisory positions. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.M., if related
