You will serve as the overall Safety and Security lead for Code 45 Departmental Staff of Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island (NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI).

Duties

You will provide departmental guidance and direction on all operational safety and security as well as Department compliance relative to public release. You will research laws, directives, standards and regulations, as well as Division Newport policy to ensure Department compliance. You will develop and implement department Safety and Security strategies and processes to ensure the department's infrastructure in those areas supports the mission requirements. You will review Security Classification Guides (SCGs) for all Code 45 programs and provide recommendations to Technical Project Managers as well as department management on the applicability, concerns, and recommendations for those SCGs. You will develop Safety/Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Wiki pages, and other training materials to strengthen Code 45's safety and security posture. You will lead team comprised of lab managers, Cyber-Security Workforce (CSWF) personnel, and developers to improve department tracking processes for Hardware (HW) and Software (SW). You will perform duties as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) as appointed and in accordance with NAVSEA's Contracting Officer's Representative Instruction (10% of time allocated for COR duties).

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing management surveys (e.g., analysis, audit readiness) to determine compliance with information security business processes (e.g., laws, directives, standards, compliance programs) for a safety and security program.
