About the Position: This position is located at Army Contracting Command -Redstone Arsenal, AL. Army Contract Command-Redstone Arsenal is a subordinate command of the U.S. Army Contracting Command. Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal (ACC-RSA) is the largest contacting center in the U.S. Army with more than 900 contracting and acquisition professionals.
Duties
Serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist responsible for auditing contractor’s performance in accordance with the terms of the contract.
Monitor contractor compliance with the contractor’s quality control system.
Develop the standard operating procedures and processes tied to the training and management strategy for contracting officer representatives.
Provide training to junior Quality Assurance Specialists and CORs in all areas related to QA and contract management matters.
Perform duties in the lead instructor’s absence.
Serve as the liaison between the installation and other agencies regarding quality aspects of contract support operations.
Serve as a technical authority to the requiring activity on matters of contract quality assurance and surveillance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- Must file a financial statement.
- Must sign an Acquisition Corps written tenure agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least 3 years.

To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service which includes: 1) Evaluating contractor performance through periodic audits and surveillance inspections; 2) Managing a quality assurance program to determine effectiveness; AND 3) Identify inconsistencies in the Quality Surveillance Program to provide improvement recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
